ECC Explores Wild Animal Unit

With a new unit, select classrooms at Early Childhood Center are busy exploring animals. The month of November always drums up visions of turkeys drawn and cut from the student’s hands as templates. Jennifer Pass, Art Teacher, is encouraging her students to actually observe wild turkeys in their nature. The class watched a small excerpt of a documentary called “My Life as a Turkey” which aired on PBS. The documentary answered a lot of questions that the students had about animals in wild life. After watching the film, they were given a choice either to paint or draw turkeys. Photos of real wild turkeys were put up on the television and the students constructed their own artwork from there.
