A Good Night of Sleep = A Good Day of Learning
At the Early Childhood Center, children engage in full and active days of learning. In order to be ready to learn, a good night of sleep is essential. Sleep helps children stay healthy and build the stamina needed to take on a wide variety of experiences they may have during the school day. The National Sleep Foundation recommends 11-13 hours of sleep for children age 3-5 years and 9-11 hours for children age 6 and up.
Here are three tips for families to ensure your children are well rested and ready for school.
- Keep a regular and consistent sleep schedule.
- Keep a relaxing bedtime routine that ends in the room where the child sleeps.
- A room that is cool, quiet and dark, is a good environment
