MRH Elementary Forms Partnership with the Gateway Arch
A grant from the National Park Service awarded in June to the Gateway Arch will support a partnership between the National Expansion Memorial (the Gateway Arch) and MRH Elementary School. Gateway Arch employees will meet frequently with 365 students in second through sixth grades, as well as 30 educators, beginning later this fall. Students will then visit the park in the spring for activities related to the project.
The Elementary School, which uses the “school as museum” metaphor, hopes the collaboration will improve curriculum for future years. The grant is one of 49 awarded this year as part of the National Park Foundation's "America's Best Idea" program.
