MRH Elementary Dress Code Guidelines
Many MRH families are taking advantage of summer sales on clothing for the school year. Taking a moment to review the MRH Board of Education policy on Student Dress Code and the Dress and Grooming section of the MRH Elementary Student Handbook may help students make informed choices when deciding what to wear to school.
Shoes: Shoes should be appropriate for PE and recess. No flip flops.
Shirts: No halter, spaghetti strap or midriff showing tops. Tops with collars that dip below the armpit line or fall from the shoulder are also prohibited.
Pants/Skirts/Shorts: Shorts need to be worn with a minimum of two inch inseam. Skirts should fall mid thigh or lower. No pajama pants. “Decorative” holes or ripping should be kept at a modest level. (at school administrator’s discretion) Clothing with vulgar, profane or suggestive messages or pictures of illegal substances or alcoholic beverages are also inappropriate.
Students found in violation of these dress code guidelines will be directed to the Nurse’s office for alternative clothing. Due to limited items in the Nurse’s closet, there may be instances where parents will be called and required to provide other clothing for their child before they will be allowed to rejoin the classroom. Clothing borrowed from the Nurse should be promptly laundered and returned. If you have a donation of clean, gently used clothing for the Nurse’s closet, please call the Student Services office at (314) 256-7202 to arrange a drop off.
