MRH Elementary Welcomes Spring Chickens

students welcome spring chickens If you’ve ever heard the phrase “She’s no spring chicken” and wondered just what a spring chicken is supposed to look like, students at MRH Elementary can show you! Meet Snickerdoodle, Sparky and Buttercup; the newest additions to the coop. Although technically, these youngsters won’t be moving into the big coop until later June, they have already made themselves very comfortable at MRH Elementary.

“Our students have been getting acquainted with the new Buff Orpington chicks through visits with their classes, learning to care for and handle the chicks and naming them” explained MRHE’s Garden Coordinator,  Laura Tetley. “The entire student body voted on names for our chicks, and we are excited to watch them grow up to be happy, healthy, egg-laying hens.”
