Surf’s Up! Disney’s Teen Beach Party Invades MRH Elementary!
This past October, Wendy Samano, Promotions Manager at Radio Disney contacted MRHE Principal Jason Adams with the good news. “Sixth grader, Aiden Armstrong, entered a National Radio Disney Contest and won! He has won MRH Elementary School a Teen Beach Movie Party!”
Aiden, his mom and sister came across the contest as they were leaving Shoe Carnival. “I saw these big posters saying ‘WIN AN iPad Mini!’ so my mom filled out an entry for both my sister and me. I really wanted to win that iPad.” Aiden says. As luck would have it, his sister Olivia did win an iPad - and Aiden won the Teen Beach Movie Party. Olivia, being the bigger fan of Disney’s Teen Beach Movie, admits she “sort of won twice.” Smiling, she added “We share the iPad, but technically, I’m in charge of it.”
Teen Beach Movie is a Disney Channel Original Movie which proved to be very popular after premiering on Disney Channel. All last week, students were given hints about a “big surprise” and although it’s been tough keeping such exciting news a secret, Dr. Adams finally had the pleasure of telling students during Friday morning gathering. It was immediately clear by the level of squealing, hugging and fist-pumps that there are plenty of Teen Beach Movie fans at MRH Elementary!
The Teen Beach Movie Party will be an evening event on Thursday, March 6 from 6:00-8:00. The event will be hosted by Radio Disney On-Air DJ’s Morgan & Maddy and a special guest (cast member from the movie!) will also attend.
UPDATE!: (2/20/14) MRH Elementary Principal Jason Adams was recently informed by Radio Disney that along with Radio DJ’s Morgan and Maddie, Kent Boyd who plays Rascal in Teen Beach Movie will be at the Teen Beach Party at MRH Elementary on March 6 for pictures and to join in on all the activities. “We will have tons of Teen Beach Movie Prizing, Dancing, Games and activities for everyone to participate.” shared Wendy Samano, Promotions Manager - Radio Disney St. Louis.
