5th Grade Students Can Participate in “5k in 5th”
Incoming MRH 5th grade students and their families may take part in the inaugural "5K in 5th" program, a 9-week couch-to-5K training that will prepare them to run in the Mosaic Services 5K on October 1. The training program will start in early August and Steve Sukanek will be leading the training.
No running experience is required; our goal is to raise the confidence and running ability of incoming 5th graders and their families so that they can complete the run and have a good time doing it. We will meet twice a week - once early on Saturdays to beat as much of the heat as we can - and give up to two "homework runs" per week.
Thanks to a donation from the Centric Group Foundation, the first 30 MRH 5th grade students who enroll and participate in the program will have their entry fee in the Mosaic Services 5K paid for. If fewer than 30 enroll, the foundation will pay half the fee of some of the first family members who enroll, up to the value of 30 entrance fees.
There is no cost for the training program, and participation in the 5K is NOT required.
5th Grade students and families can register for the program via the MRH Youth Sports website at www.mrhys.org
