A Great Sense of Community
The Chili Cook-Off is one of our biggest PTO sponsored events of the year. Of course, this year was no different. I think we had more entries for the cook-off than we ever had in previous years. To say it was a full house is an understatement!
I loved helping Ms. Janet serve the chili dinner to our hungry students, parents, and staff. It is a great way to talk to everyone at the event and help out at the same time! I appreciate that so many families and staff members took the time to attend the event. This is very important to our kids and says a lot about our community.
A special thank you to Kathy Simon and Bill Cordia for getting our families up and moving with the fitness component of the evening. So many kids and parents were on the gym floor dancing---lots of laughs from all!
The PTO did a great job organizing the event and getting the raffles organized for the families. The tables where families could put raffle tickets in for the items were crowded all evening. I will share with you how much was raised once the PTO gets all of the information to me.
Finally, I would like to thank Deb Barham for organizing the Science Fair. So many families were intrigued by the different projects on display. I cannot even tell you how many “scientific” conversations I heard during the evening! How cool!
