Join Women Who Look Ahead (WWLA) Today

Maplewood Richmond Heights High School's WWLA student group is looking for new member's for the 2016-2017 school year.

What is Women who Look Ahead (WWLA)

WWLA is a group for young women at MRH High School. WWLA women meet with the students in a mentoring capacity, hosting club activities, and having guest speakers. The members engage in activities and group discussions that focus on positive self-esteem in order to be successful, confident, and educated young scholars.

WWLA Background

WWLA was founded in 2001 by Claudette Howell, Kathy Thorpe, Linda Henke and Natasha Webster. These women were motivated to form this group to be local mentors to young girls as they saw middle school students tranisitioning to high school. These women wanted to help these young ladies achieve positive things, in their lives with support and motivation and also focus on academics. Claudette Howell, Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent, defines WWLA as "one of the greatest groups at MRH that was put together for young women, to come together, understand different personalities, and to acknowledge that every girl is different and unique."
