MRH Participates in Maplewood’s Christmas Tree Walk

The holiday season kicks off in Maplewood with the 10th Annual Christmas Tree Walk on Friday, December 2, 2011. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. in Citizens Park with caroling, the grand lighting of the tree, and the arrival of Santa Claus.

Students from the MRH School District will be lighting luminaries along Manchester Road and Sutton Boulevard, as well as providing hot cocoa and roasting chestnuts. High School and Elementary students will provide choral entertainment while Middle School drama students, dressed in festive holiday costumes, will mingle with guests and give away gifts.

During the evening, visitors will enjoy free carriage rides and a shuttle service that will take them through historic Maplewood. Area merchants will have holiday shopping specials and many dining destinations and coffee shops will be feature live entertainment.

6:00 p.m. (Citizens Park)

  • Grand lighting of the Christmas tree
  • Caroling
  • Arrival of Santa Claus
  • Merchant window decorating contest winners announced

6:30-9:00 p.m.

  • Santa visits and photos and free carriage rides (7305 Manchester)
  • Merchant open houses throughout Maplewood
  • Free shuttle service
