MRH Middle School Spelling Bee

snapshot of spelling bee from the previous yearCan you spell cerebellum or ruminate? MRH Middle School students spent the afternoon the Friday before Winter Break testing their spelling skills.

After a round of classroom level competition, both seventh and eighth grade students joined together on the auditorium stage for the final and decisive round.  One by one students stepped up to the microphone and pitted their knowledge against challenging words.

Twenty students eventually became two as Drew Curtis and Martino Britt, both seventh graders, battled letter by letter for the title of MRH Middle School Spelling Bee Champion.  Finally, after spelling too the best of their abilities, Drew Curtis eventually stood as the 2012 Champion.  Congratulations Drew and we wish him good spelling as he has the opportunity to compete at the regional level!
