Communications Director Brian Adkisson to Leave MRH

Brian Adkisson Maplewood Richmond Heights School DistrictThe Maplewood Richmond Heights School District regretfully announces Director of Communications Brian Adkisson will be leaving MRH as of June 2, 2017 to join the City of Columbia, Missouri as its new communications and marketing manager. Adkisson is a native of the mid-Missouri area.

Adkisson joined MRH in October 2011. Prior to that, he served as vice president of marketing and communications for the Arts and Education Council of St. Louis, was the director of marketing and public relations at the Louisiana State Museum (Office of the Lt. Governor/Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism) and marketing manager at the Saint Louis Art Museum.

“We are all extremely sad to see Brian leave MRH, but excited for him to move closer to his family and begin his new position with the City of Columbia,” said MRH Superintendent Karen I. Hall. “He has reinvigorated our communications department, strengthened our branding and engagement initiatives, and led us to through two very successful ballot issues to ensure the long-term security of the district.”

“It has truly been my greatest professional honor to serve the MRH School District and be part of the greater MRH family. I have enjoyed my time here more than I can possibly put into words,” said Adkisson. “The students, faculty, staff, Board of Education, families, and community have always welcomed and embraced me, and for that I will be eternally grateful.”

The District will now begin the process of seeking a replacement for the communications director position. A search committee will be formed with the goal of having the position filled as soon as possible.

“I wish everyone at MRH the very best and know the District will continue to soar even higher, achieve greater success, and continue enriching the lives of its students and community,” added Adkisson.
