Annual Performance Report
Below are the results of the latest Annual Performance Report (APR) for the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District under the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP-6). The 2025 APR - based on data from the 2024-25 school year - shows that MRH earned 98.5% of the total APR points.
Highlights from 2024-2025:
- Earned 100% of possible points for student growth
- Continued a pattern of APR improvement over a 3-year period (84.3% in 2023, 97% in 2024)
The 2025 APR includes points (weighted) for both performance and continuous improvement standards. MRH earned 138 of the possible 140 points in the performance category, and 59 of the possible 60 points in the continuous improvement area, for a final weighted average of 98.5%.
A district's APR score is created from a wide range of data based on results from academic achievement and growth on state standardized tests (MAP scores), student group achievement and growth, college and career readiness (K-12), attendance and graduation rates. The APR score provides a practical tool for the Board of Education, administrators and teachers to identify strengths and needs in the District.
What We Do
The Data and Assessment Department oversees District-level assessments, ensures that the District is in compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and policies and supports stakeholders by providing accurate and actionable data. Data is used to learn about what students know, to plan educational experiences and to measure progress toward individual and district goals.
MRH Report Card
State and local school district report cards are critical tools for promoting accountability for schools, local school districts, and states by publicizing data about student performance and program effectiveness for parents, policy makers, and other stakeholders. Report cards help parents and the general public see where schools and districts are succeeding and where there is still work to do. In the same way that data enables educators to make better decisions about teaching and learning, data can also help parents and other community members work more effectively with educators and local school officials to promote school change. Additionally, the more parents and community members know about the academic achievement of their children and their schools, the more likely they are to be involved in their local schools and the public school system.
The Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) is the state’s accountability system for reviewing, accrediting, and making classification decisions for local education agencies (LEAs i.e. school districts). It outlines expectations for school practices and student outcomes, with the goal of each student graduating ready for success in college, career, and life. MSIP 6 is intended to distinguish the performance of schools and LEAs in valid, accurate, and meaningful ways so that LEAs can continue to improve and identify areas of excellence.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) generates an Annual Performance Report (APR) for each Local Education Agency (LEA) to measure the progress of Missouri students, schools, and LEAs and to distinguish school and LEA performance. The APR is calculated as part of the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) and is the primary component of the classification recommendation to the State Board of Education. The 2022 APR marked the beginning of the MSIP 6 cycle.
