Grants and Gifts
Often we find an amazing opportunity and want to jump at it. We have a new staff member who is developing a new process and with all new things, there will be growing pains. While we do not want to stifle the incredible initiative and ingenuity of staff and leadership, we do need to adhere to the policy set forth by the school board. Linked here are two board policies related to public gifts to schools (KH) and grants (DD) which we will need to follow.
What I'm asking you to do is WAIT before you click 'yes' or accept anything.
Dr. Stephanie Bechard is our Coordinator of State and Federal Programs. She reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and her primary responsibilities are coordinating local, state and federal programs. Her additional duties are to demonstrate leadership in organizing, administering, and evaluating all state and federal programs, fee-based programs and grant initiatives.
Grants often have matching components and/or specific requirements to be completed in order to successfully receive the funds, as well as tracking, creating budget codes for incoming and outgoing funds and ensuring we have all documentation for tracking grant purchases, expenditures, etc for the auditors.
In an effort to streamline the process for grants and approvals for staff applying for grants, please fill out the form linked below. Dr. Bechard will reach out to you after submittal for any additional details needed and assist with the process to ensure all necessary parties are informed and request for board approval when needed.
Thanks for all you do to help kids and please reach out as opportunities come your way.
Dr. Chris McGee, Asst. Supt., Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment
