Resource Adoption Process
Resource Adoption Overview

-
Our school district is committed to providing high-quality educational resources for all students, in line with Board Policy IIA: Instructional Materials. This policy mandates a thorough and equitable process for selecting primary curricular resources. The importance of this process cannot be overstated, as it ensures that all instructional materials align with our educational goals and curriculum.
Professional staff, tasked with selecting these materials, are guided by the policy to choose resources that maximize each student's educational potential. They consider a variety of textbooks and materials, ensuring diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility in our educational offerings. This includes the selection of resources that support multi-cultural understanding, disability awareness, and gender fairness.
Additionally, the policy ensures equitable distribution of resources across all schools within the district, guaranteeing that every student has access to the same high-quality materials. This includes providing free textbooks from grades K-12 and prioritizing materials available in accessible formats like Braille or computer-readable electronic formats.
By adhering to this comprehensive process, we not only comply with legal requirements but also uphold our commitment to educational excellence and equity. This process is crucial for fostering an environment where every student has the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.
