ECC Teacher Heather Bailey Receives Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award
Early Childhood Center teacher Heather Bailey received the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award on Sunday, November 11, 2012. The awards program, sponsored by Emerson, annually recognizes more than 100 educators in the St. Louis metropolitan area – from kindergarten teachers to college professors – who are examples of excellence.
Award recipients are selected by the chief administrators of their school districts or educational institutions and represent excellence in the field of education. Emerson, with its world headquarters located in St. Louis, has sponsored this program since 1989 as part of its commitment to promote quality education throughout the St. Louis area.
Participation in the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards Program is by open invitation to all public and private schools in the St. Louis metropolitan area providing full-time instruction for students in kindergarten through college. This year’s Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award recipients, with the exception of college-level educators, will also be eligible to apply for Gold Star cash grants that Emerson has made available to help support development goals of these teachers.
Bailey has also been named the 2012-2013 District Teacher of the Year by MRH and will be honored at the district’s annual employee appreciation dinner held in the spring.
