Welcome Back From Superintendent Karen I. Hall
Dear MRH Families:
On behalf of the teachers, staff, administrators, and Board of Education, I want to welcome you back for the 2016-17 school year. We hope you enjoyed your summer break with family and friends and are ready for another amazing school year. Our first day for K-12 students is Monday, August 15 and Monday, August 22 for Preschool. This is always an exciting time for us, and we are eager to have our students back in the classrooms.
We have many new students, families, and staff joining our growing district. Darion Murdock will be the new assistant principal and federal programs coordinator at the Early Childhood Center. As the ECC campus continues to expand, this new position will allow us to continue meeting the needs of our students and ensuring their academic success.
Construction work is also moving along well at the ECC. The new parking lot and pick-up/drop-off area is nearing completion and should be open for use during the first week of school. While the finishing touches are done on the lot, work will begin on the new building addition this fall with full campus renovations being completed next summer in time for the start of the 2017-18 school year.
Our community’s unwavering support of our students and teachers is truly inspiring. We stand united and committed to provide our students the best education available with small class sizes, personalized and individualized instruction, and wrap-around services to ensure every student succeeds academically and personally.
Thank you for your continued support of our students. I know 2016-17 will be another great year for our District and community.
Karen I. Hall
