Voters Choose One New MRH Board Member, Re-elect an Incumbent
There's a new face on the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District Board of Education, but she's hardly new to the district.
Nikylan Knapper was elected to the board on April 2nd. She is a resident of Maplewood with her husband Sam, 6 year old MRH first-grader Teddy, twin 2 year olds Lyndon and Grant, and puppy Noel. She has served as a Cub Scout leader, an MRH PTO ECC Co-Chair, and a Youth Soccer Coach for MRH Youth Sports.
Knapper is a Federal Administrative Judge for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and previously was an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and an Assistant Public Defender in Nashville, TN.
MRH district voters re-elected Brandi Herndon-Miller, who was selected in 2017 to fill the unexpired term of a former board member who stepped down. Knapper assumes the directorship previously held by Nelson Mitten, who is retiring from the board after a 21-year run.
Tuesday's election results:
Brandi Herndon-Miller - 1,021 - 39%
Nikylan (Niky) Donato-Knapper - 749 - 28%
Bradley (Brad) Jackson - 159 - 6%
Kenneth (Dale) Chambers - 517 - 20%
