Class Assignments Update, July 14, 220

MRH ECC July 2020

MRH ECC Class Assignment Update:

Dear ECC Parents,

I am writing to provide an update on the mailing of class assignments for *Preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. 2nd grade students are in the second half of their loop and will remain with their 1st grade teacher.

In an earlier communication, I anticipated that we would be able to send this information to you by July 10th. However, this was not possible due to a number of variables that surfaced during our comprehensive re-entry planning. I anticipate the revised date for mailing class assignments to parents will be Wednesday, July 29th. Soon after parents receive class assignments, teachers will be reaching out to schedule virtual home visits. Second graders that have a new teacher as a result of staffing changes, will also have the opportunity for a virtual home visit.

As a district administrative team, we continue to evaluate guidelines set forth by local and national health agencies as they relate to the various facets of district operations in the climate of COVID19. Additionally, we are studying the evolving research regarding the effectiveness of possible mitigation strategies designed to increase the physical safety of all. The results of our collaborative efforts have informed the district re-entry plan, which will be shared on July 20, 2020 via the district website, email, as well as, through other approved social media venues.

The goal of our plan is to provide an environment that supports both the physical and emotional well-being of children, staff, and parents. It is of the utmost importance to me that we take great care in planning for your child's return and I ask that you reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact at 314-568-1257 or click here to email me directly

Stay safe & Be Well,

Cyndi Hebenstreit, PhD

Principal

*If you are a third grade parent, please disregard this information, as you have already received your child's class assignment. We wish you well as you move onto MRH Elementary - you are going to have a great year!

MRH ECC Family Update, June 9, 2020

MRH ECC June 2020

MRH ECC Summer Express Newsletter:

Thank you for all of the wonderful signs along the ECC/Elementary parade route!!

Dear Parents,

I am writing to share that my staff and I, along with district administrators, are working hard to determine how to open school in August with the safety of all in the forefront of our minds. As a district administrative team, we are reviewing guidelines, available research, and studying ways to create safe spaces for children and adults. The district will be communicating information as decisions are made about re-opening via the district website, other approved social media venues, and I will be communicating through the mail, as well as, through Constant Contact newsletters.

Over the weekend or yesterday, K/1/2 report cards and preschool narratives for kindergarten eligible preschoolers should have arrived in the mailbox. Typically, a newsletter is enclosed with these reports with information about opening of school events. Given the current situation, I am not yet able to provide information about when events will occur or exactly what they will look like. Be assured that when we are able to announce our welcome back events with dates and times, I will send comprehensive communications to all of our families.

Class placements for Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade will arrive in the mail by the end of the first full week of July. Third grade class placements should be mailed by the elementary school this Friday, June 12th.

Currently, our office staff is working remotely and only come to the office to complete identified tasks. If you should need to contact my office staff, please call the office number at 314-644-4405 and calls will be forwarded appropriately. You can also reach me directly at 314-568-1257.

Wishing you a healthy & safe summer,

MRH ECC Parent Update, May 11, 2020

Maplewood Richmond Heights

Early Childhood Center

Dear Parents,

Kindergarten registration for the 2020-2021 school year is now open for students new to the ECC. As a reminder to all ECC families, registration information for the ECC & Elementary Discover Club program is now available on the district website. The registration window for our before & after care program opens on Monday, May 18th and closes for the initial round of registration on Friday, May 29th. If you miss the initial registration window, Discover Club registration will re-open in mid-June, and if there are no available slots, we will start a waiting list.

Kindergarten Enrollment Information: 2020-21

In this section, you will find information on how to enroll your Kindergarten student into the MRH School District. Please note that these directions are for those students that will be attending MRH for the first time. There is a separate set of instructions and steps for those families transitioning from Preschool to Kdg. Those directions were emailed to the Preschool families in April.

Due to the school closure, we were unable to host our on-site registration event for new Kindergarten students. However, through the combined efforts of ECC and District staff, we have created a new on-line enrollment process.

Below you will find specific written directions, as well as 2 video tutorials, that will walk you through the enrollment process. We ask that you complete this process as soon as possible since we are working on classroom assignments. In addition, if you need before or after school care, the enrollment process must be complete before we can accept applications for our Discover Club before and after care program. The first window for Discover Club registration begins on Monday, May 18 and closes on Friday, May 29. If you miss the initial registration window, Discover Club registration will re-open in mid-June, and if there are no available slots, we will start a waiting list.

If after reviewing the video tutorials and written directions, you have remaining questions or problems completing this process, feel free to contact Molly Sauer via email: ecc_enrollment@mrhschools.net or by phone: 314-644-4405

Registration Process:

I. Download, rename, complete, and save forms on your device

· Enrollment Packet: Click here to download Kindergarten Enrollment Form

· Lead Screening: Click here to download Lead Screening Form

· Here is a video tutorial on how to complete this step: Completing the Enrollment Forms

II. Gather documents to be uploaded and sent through a secure drop box

· Proof of Residency: Occupancy Permit from Maplewood or Richmond Heights

· Birth Certificate: Students must be born on or before 7/31/2015

· Parent/Guardian Photo ID (at least one of the parents/guardians must be an MRH resident)

  • Only (1) parent/guardian ID is required

· Most recent immunizations record

·      Additional immunizations need to be completed by Aug.1st

· Most recent physical examination (within the past year)

· Completed & Saved Enrollment Form (from above)

· Completed and Saved Lead Screening Questionnaire (from above)

· If applicable, a current asthma action plan from your physician’s office (these must be updated annually)

· If applicable, a current food allergy action plan from your physician's office (these must be updated annually)

III. Prepare and upload all of the documents into our secure drop box system

· Each document, including the completed enrollment form, should be downloaded and saved on your device as a pdf or jpeg file

· Each document should be labeled with your student’s name (eg. Doe, Jane_Immunizations, Doe, Jane Physical, etc.)

· Upload the documents into our drop box system:

· Here is a video tutorial on uploading documents: Uploading enrollment forms to the DropBox

· Link to MRH Secure Drop box

After completing the aforementioned steps, what’s next?

1.    You will receive instructions on registering your child into our student information system (Power School). Once you register your child into Power School, their enrollment is complete!. We cannot send Power School registration instructions until we receive the enrollment forms.

2.    You will be eligible to enroll in the MRH Discover Club starting the week of May 18

3.    The ECC Administrative staff will work on assigning your student to a classroom. Classroom assignments should be announced by mid-late June

4.    If the stay at home orders are lifted this summer, and we can conduct limited in-person services, we will invite you and your student to the ECC for a brief school readiness assessment so that we can best be prepared to serve your student. This will also give us an opportunity to learn more about your student and answer any questions you might have.

Warm Regards,

?
