How will my student(s) online learning be reflected on their 4th Quarter Report Card?
The K/1/2 ECC report cards consist of a numeric scale, however, for the 4th quarter, we will not be using this scale. Instead, we will provide a narrative describing your child’s progress, where applicable, and thoughts for continued growth.
Will my student(s) be in “trouble” or retained for not completing the online assignments?
Understandably, some parents have worried that if their child does not complete assigned lessons, they will not move onto the next grade. I want to assure each parent that this is not the case. Children will be promoted to the next grade level regardless of the number of lessons completed remotely. Our best hope is that the lessons offered function as learning opportunities on identified content, as well as, act as springboards for additional conversation and activities in the home environment throughout the remainder of the school closure.
Can my child meet with other staff?
If you feel it would be helpful for your child(ren) to have an individual session with Mrs. Ratz, Ms. Hannah (Busebee), or Ms. McLaughlin, please do not hesitate to reach out to them via email. They are very willing to set up sessions to help you and your child cope with the stress of being away from school or any other concern related to this new and difficult situation.
Art, Music, PE, and Seed-to-Table teachers are also available for
individual check-ins with students.
Look for a special parent update yet this week regarding kindergarten registration for existing ECC eligible preschoolers.
