ECC Studio Conference
SCHOOL AS STUDIO CONFERENCE REGISTRATION IS OPEN
Maplewood Richmond Heights Early Childhood Center (MRH ECC) is a state-of-the-art early childhood setting where the languages of drawing, dance, sculpture, architecture, and drama inspire thinking and learning. “School as Studio” serves as a metaphor and guiding principle for teaching and learning at MRH ECC.
The “School As Studio” conference will focus on the experience of MRH ECC teachers who collaborate with students to engage in the social process of learning. Learn how teachers inspire one another to continuously consider ways to support critical thinking through inquiry and collaboration from a constructivist approach grounded in the practices of schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Working in this way helps the staff of the MRH ECC live out the mission of ensuring educational equity where all children have access to robust resources, complex environments and experiences, joy of learning, and self-reflection. The conference goal is to engage with participants in deep conversation about innovative and intentional practice that inspires teaching and learning for the benefit of children now and in the future.
