Girl Scouts Learn What it Takes to Feed 500 Hungry Students
Imagine a restaurant which serves hundreds of meals each day, five days a week. That's what MRH Food Services is responsible for year-round, and the local Girl Scouts got an up-close look at how it all unfolds.
Troop 2510 is working on a meals badge, and part of the requirement is to tour an industrial kitchen. Irene Wan of MRH Food Services came to the rescue and showed the girls behind the scenes of the high school/ middle school kitchen. The girls learned that it takes a lot of food to feed our students and multiple people-hours to prepare, serve, and clean up from lunch every day.
Their favorite part? The freezer: it was cold in there on a steaming hot day.
