WATER MAIN BREAK REPAIRED: MRH CLASSES RESUME TUESDAY

UPDATE, 12 PM MONDAY 1-28-19: The boil water order issued for much of Maplewood on Sunday morning has been lifted, and our school district will be back in session on Tuesday, January 29. Water samples tested negative for contaminants, however, we will be flushing our lines just to be absolutely safe. Again, classes in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District will resume on Tuesday.

The entire Maplewood Richmond Heights School District will be closed on Monday, January 28. A water main break in a St. Louis County main line has prompted an order that all water be boiled before consumption in Maplewood and some surrounding areas. It is possible that the break will be repaired today, but test results on the water will NOT be available today. Again, the MRH district will be closed on Monday, January 28.

Missouri American Water Company issued this statement:

This is a message from Missouri American Water. We are calling to tell you that we have issued a boil water advisory for portions of Maplewood, Shrewsbury and Webster Groves that affects you. We are asking customers to bring their water to a boil for three minutes before using it for drinking or cooking. Tap water is okay for washing and bathing. We will take water quality samples in the area Tuesday. The boil water advisory will be in effect until water quality samples confirm that the water remains safe for consumption. Boil water advisories can last 48-72 hours. We will call you again when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
