NEW:  WOW Food Pantry Immediate Needs:  While many students are planning for summer break, student interns with the Weekend on Wheels Food Pantry are busy planning food supports to serve families at the start of the 2019-2020 school year. Our students have been thorough and thoughtful in planning out foods needed now, so that we can begin service to WOW families as early as possible this coming fall. Thank you in advance for any support you can provide.

During the last week of each school year each class holds a “Learning Celebration”.  The Learning Celebration allows for students and teachers to share their reflections and successes from the school year.  Family members are invited to participate in each Learning Celebration. This year the Learning Celebrations will be held on Tuesday, May 21st at the following times:

  • 8:00-8:45 5th Grade

  • 8:45-9:30 4th Grade

  • 9:30-10:15 3rd Grade

We hold the Learning Celebrations on the same day, so that families with children in multiple grades can participate in each celebration.

MRHE CAREER DAY – May 17, 2019

We invite parents, relatives, community and business members to participate in the MRH Elementary sponsored CAREER DAY!  We have scheduled Friday, May 17,, as the day to bring adult resources together to help our students focus on career opportunities.

 We welcome you to MRH Elementary as a “real life” resource for our students.  If you are unsure of what you can share with students, we recommend any of the following;

  • Your job title

  • Your job description

  • Please include:  How reading and math skills play an important part in your career

  • Importance of attendance at your job

  • Training and education needed for your job and other opportunities within your field

Career sharing will take place on May 17 in 3 sessions/presentations of

25 minutes each from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

When you stay for more than one session,

it allows more students to hear about your career.

We will rotate groups of 15-20 students and one teacher through your designated “station” in 25-minute intervals.  By the time they get settled, you will have about 20 minutes to share information about what you do.  You can decide if you want to save about 5 minutes at the end of each session for them to ask you questions.  Students are always curious about salaries.  You can speak to that question in broad terms, if you like.  Do not feel obligated to divulge your personal salary. :)

Please Click Here if you can be part of this experience for the students of MRH Elementary, or  email our counselors

6th Grade Promotion

On Monday, May 20th from 6:00-7:00 pm we will hold a celebration of your child's promotion from Elementary School to Middle School.  This event will be held in the theater of MRH Middle School and High School, which are located at 7539 Manchester Rd, St. Louis, MO 63143.  Students may begin arriving between 5:30 and 5:45pm. Tickets to attend the ceremony are not needed.  A short reception will follow the promotion and will be on site with specific details shared that evening.  We look forward to celebrating with you and your child!
