MRHE Museum Memo from Dr. Thompson, Sept. 21

I hope you were able to enjoy the outdoors a bit this weekend. It is a beautiful time of the year, and the changing weather brings a different energy with it! For my family, morning walks, open windows, and dinner on the patio bring the fresh air (literally) that is just what we need.

Speaking of, I had a morning walk with a friend over the weekend, and she, in all of her wisdom, kept referring to her focus on using a "language of hope". She's also an educator, and she recognizes the importance of our words and energy in our work with learners. Choosing a "language of hope" that speaks to new opportunities, growth, and positivity immediately bring fresh air (figuratively) to all we are currently experiencing. Plus, it just feels better (see below).

Our staff and students have been working hard persistent and creative as they navigate Star 360 testing in this virtual learning environment. Thank you for prioritizing this with us.

As an important reminder: Friday, September 25th is a PD Day. There will be no school, no engagement with learning that day.

Dr. Thompson on behalf of the MRHE Staff

Greetings from MRH School Nutrition Services!

This is a friendly reminder that curbside meal pick-up will not occur on Friday, Sept. 25 due to the Professional Development day. We will resume our normal schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

If you have not submitted your Free and Reduced Meal Application yet, please visit My School Apps to fill one out online. No need to print it out and send it in! If you have any questions, please contact Irene Wan, District-level Food Service Manager at

Please contact Chef Almut Marino if you are interested in becoming a chicken/garden steward. For about 90 minutes a week (only Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), you and your family can really assist our school garden and chickens.

There will be safety protocols in place, of course. Email Chef Marino for details and dates!

As is everything else in 2020, the PTO is going to need to make some adjustments to our typical operations. Please help us plan by completing this survey: PTO Survey 20-21 and/or contact us at with any ideas or questions.

The purpose of this club is to provide additional support to students who may need assistance with work completion, being walked through the platform(s), additional time and support to process through assignments, organizational assistance, etc. It is not individualized tutoring, but an extra support offered to all students within the MRH Tiers Plan.

Parents and guardians: if you are interested in pursuing this support, please reach out to your child's teacher who will coordinate with the assigned MRHE Learning Lab teacher directly.

Club begins on 9/21/2020 and runs Monday-Thursday from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
