Pianos for People and MRH Student Connect
In 2013, Pianos for People donated two pianos to the Maplewood Richmond Heights Middle and High School. On Thursday, October 16, 2014 MRH and Pianos for People reconnected once again. They invited Sam Blue, twelfth grade, to be a special guest piano soloist for their annual luncheon. The luncheon consisted of groups who throughout the year perform service projects for their community. The discussion consisted of different stories about how music has changed so many young people’s lives and ultimately what Pianos for People is doing to keep these success stories alive.
Pianos for People is a St. Louis based non-profit organization that connects people who need pianos with pianos who need people.
“I am extremely honored that I was chosen to play for this group and share my story with them. I believe that this was a great opportunity to share my music and I really related to the conversation. I just hope that my music will motivate, inspire and change people’s lives in any way that it can,” said Blue.
