WEEKLY LEARNING: Highlighting 7th Grade Metrolink Expedition
Seventh grade students participated in their very first middle school expedition. Working with their advisory classes, students explored various Metrolink stops, looking for evidence of “the good life”, a concept they’ve been examining in Mr. Mattia’s US history class. Throughout all time, and in all places, individuals have searched for food, water, and resources, community connections, safety and security, and a sense of purpose in life, all of which are indicators of the good life. Students documented these indicators through photography and in writing, and will use this information to analyze the characteristics that make for a desirable Metrolink location.
After visiting their Metrolink stops, students then met at Forest Park for lunch and class building activities. They were even lucky enough to spot Vice President Biden’s motorcade.
