MRH Return to Learning 2021-2022

The first day of school is August 24, 2021.

Here's what MRH Middle School families need to know:


In-Person Learning


  • In-person learning is the primary mode of instruction for the MRH 2021-2022 school Year.
  • Classes will be held five days per week.
  • Before school tutoring starts at 7:45 a.m. via the R&D entrance.
  • Academic assistance will be available based on student needs. We will have before-school academic assistance, after-school academic assistance, and evening zoom sessions.
  • MRH sports and extracurriculars will be offered in accordance with current safety guidelines issued by the St. County Department of Health.


Safety Expectations for All


  • All individuals attending MRH schools will be required to wear a mask.
  • Individuals should maintain 3-6 feet of physical distance at all times to the greatest extent possible.
  • Assigned seating and records of seating will be maintained to assist with contact tracing.
  • Plexiglass or other physical barriers may be used in high-travel areas where distancing is difficult.
  • Special cleaning protocols will ensure regular disinfection of “high touch surfaces”.
  • MRH will practice and reinforce handwashing and healthy hygiene behaviors.
  • Systemic contact tracing will occur in collaboration with the local health department using modified quarantine guidelines.
  • MRH encourages the vaccination of all eligible individuals as a key mitigation strategy.
  • School doors will open daily at 8:15 a.m. (band door, track buzzer door, glass track doors near cafeteria). Students who arrive early may wait outside near the track bleachers.
  • Students who choose morning tutoring may enter via the R&D doors at 7:45 a.m. (Does not begin until week 2)



  • All individuals will be required to wear a mask.
  • We will provide hand sanitizer.
  • Students will enter/exit the bus using safe distancing measures.
  • Buses will be treated with electrostatic sprayers.


Early Dismissal Procedures


  • Please call or email Mrs. Jonas before coming to pick your student up for any appointments or early dismissals. The more notice we have the better we can cut your wait time down.

Health Expectations/Report Illness


  • Students and staff members will be provided with two masks.
  • Face coverings should have at least two layers of washable, breathable fabric and be worn securely over the mouth and nose. 
  • Individuals exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend school.
  • Individuals who become symptomatic while at school will be immediately isolated.
  • Individuals will be asked to isolate and quarantine in accordance with St. Louis County Department of Public Health modified guidance.
  • To report your middle school student being absent due to any illnesses, please use this FORM.

Student Absences Due to Experiencing Symptoms


The normal ways a student makes up for lost time include:


  • Checking itslearning pages for classwork and lesson plans
  • Contacting the teacher(s) for any missed notes or shared documents
  • Contact a classmate for any particulars or nuances missed
  • Attend our before-school tutoring sessions.

Student Daily Needs


  • Fully charged Chromebook/charger
  • Refillable water bottle


Please help your student create great habits for remembering their fully charged Chromebook and their water bottle. We will not have extra water bottles or cups for students to use.


If you have not received your Chromebook or lock you may pick up Monday between 10am and noon. If you are unable to make this, we will make sure every student has their Chromebook prior to the end of the first day.
