Basketball Coach Corey Frazier Named "High School Coach of the Year"
On Thursday, Dec. 17 at the Missouri Athletic Club, alongside such other prominent sports figures as St. Louis Cardinal Adam Wainwright and St. Louis Post-Dispatch writer Bernie Miklasz, MRH’s basketball coach Corey Frazier will receive the Jack Buck Sports Award for “High School Coach of the Year.”
Frazier, who has been head coach since 2000, has led the boys basketball team to state championships in 2008 and 2009. Frazier is quick to acknowledge assistant coach John Redden. “He’s been with me from the start and he’s played a big part in our success,” Fraizer said. He also credits the support of the school district and the community.
The award is selected by KFNS 590 and St. Louis Sports Magazine (see the magazine’s story here.)
“It’s a huge honor for our community,” said Board member Maria Langston. “Our athletics program has been a great way for all members of our community to get involved with the schools. Plus, they’re a whole lot of fun to watch.”
