MRH High School presents The Matchmaker March 4-6
The MRH High School’s spring theatre production, The Matchmaker, runs March 4-6 at 7:00 p.m. each night. Playwright Thornton Wilder's comedic farce has been loved for many years and it was the basis for the 1964 musical comedy Hello, Dolly!
Dolly Levi is so busy managing the affairs of everyone else, she’s overlooked her own happiness. But that’s about to end—and so is the bachelorhood of Yonkers dry-goods merchant Horace Vandergelder. In one hilarious day in New York City, Dolly manages to complicate the lives of Horace; his niece Ermengarde and her fiancé, Ambrose; Horace’s two bumbling clerks, Cornelius and Barnaby; and a New York City hatmaker and her assistant. As the plot of The Matchmaker twists and turns, the audience can rest assured that by the end of the day everything—and every pair—will be happily sorted out.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students, and are available at the door the night of the production starting at 6:15 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
