MRH Receives Two More Awards for Construction Projects
On May 6, the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District was recognized for two design awards – one for the renovation for the Middle/High School theatre and one for the preschool addition at the Early Childhood Center. The awards were presented by the Mid-America Chapter of the International Interior Design Association.
The renovation of the theatre, which was completed in the spring of 2009, was given the Silver Award in the renovation/restoration category. The jury loved the floor design, color palette and the natural light in the auditorium lobby.
The preschool addition, which was completed in the summer of 2009, also received a Silver Award for design, this time in the education/research category. The jury was very pleased with the bright and cheerful color palette and glad to see a diversion from the typical primary colors often found in early education facilities. The blend of indoor and outdoor spaces was also praised. This award marks the third design award earned for the preschool addition (learn about the previous two awards here).
Both designs were developed by Bond Wolfe Architects, which has been collaborating with MRH since 1996.
