MRH Website Gets New Look
MRH is pleased to announce the launch of a new website for the school district.
Replacing the old website (pictured at right), which was designed nearly a decade ago, the new site offers useful features including search capability, more robust school sections, and easier to use navigation. In addition, the look and feel of the site have been updated.
The MRH website, which averages more than 16,000 page views per month, provides valuable information to parents, staff members, and taxpayers in the district.
Tom Wickersham, the district’s director of communication, noted that the old site, which was launched in 2002, was showing its age. “The old website was becoming harder and harder to update each year,” said Wickersham. “With MRH constantly improving and adjusting to meet the needs of its students, we needed a website that can keep up the pace with district’s innovations.”
In addition to an overhaul of the behind-the-scenes content management system, visitors are treated to a more visually appealing site. Other updates and improvements include:
- A search feature,
- An easy to use navigation system,
- A subscribable calendar,
- Complete staff list with photos and e-mail links,
- A newsletters page as part of the navigation,
- Random loading photos, giving each page a fresh look with each visit, and
- The integration of the Blue Devils athletics into the school’s pages.
Approved by the Board of Education in August, 2010, the process to redesign the website included surveys and input from teachers, parents, students, and community members. The district hired The Business Artist, an independent web developing company from Clayton, to manage the project. “We’re thrilled with the results of their work,” said Wickersham.
With the launch of a new site, there are still possible bugs needing to be fixed. Wickersham asked visitors to the website to send feedback. “Any and all comments are greatly appreciated, as we continue to fine-tune the site,” he said. You can send an e-mail or call (314) 644-4400.
