School Year Starts with New Resources for Middle School Students
As the new year begins, the students at the middle school will find they have additional teacher support each day. Both the seventh and eighth grade teams have added instructional coaches to the team dynamic for this year. Dan Reeve will be serving this role for the 8th grade team, and Roxanna Mechem will be serving this role for the 7th grade.
The instructional coaches will provide teachers with additional time, space, and resources to meet the individual needs of kids on a daily basis. This will take on a variety of looks, but it could have the coach working with those students needing greater academic rigor to maintain their growth or as a support for students in need. The coaches will also work closely with teachers to provide them the things that they need for success.
In addition to the coaches, the school will also have a special education teacher that is dedicated to each team of teachers. Our special education teachers possess a unique set of skills that can help motivate all of our students. The new team structures will maximize the skills and capacity of each teacher, and this will ultimately bring new benefits to all students.
