Students Present at State Principals' Conference
Three eighth grade students, Marianne Hicks, Zach Russell, and Ramone Agard, presented to an audience of 50 statewide principals at the annual Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals conference in Columbia, Mo. on October 3.
"Developing a Sustainability Community: Our Green Schools Journey" was the title of the 90 minute presentation. Each of the eighth graders prepared to speak on a variety of aspect of the MRH Middle School culture and programming. They were joined by principal Dr. Robert Dillon and reading teacher and instructional coach, Mr. Dan Reeve.
The students provides remarkable insight to the available opportunities for them to grow as leaders, scholars, citizens, and stewards during their middle school career. A number of those in audience spoke with the students following the presentation to ask more questions and thank the students for bringing them new energy to their work.
The students were chosen as a part of the middle school's commitment to providing each of the students unique opportunities to grow in the areas of leadership. They were nominated by teachers and their principal and selected based on their hard work and commitment to learning
