New Faces and Improvements in Technology

Student receives help at the student-run technology "help-desk".

The technology department at MRH high school has undergone significant changes and improvements that benefit both staff and students. New to MRHHS is Dave Grossman. Dave moves to the high school from the middle school as the new Technology Coordinator. At the middle school Dave taught technology courses, provided teacher professional development, and offered tech support. At the high school he will provide similar services. Also new to the high school is Phil Crawford. Phil comes with a wealth of knowledge in printing and graphics as well as TV and broadcasting skills. He will help teach Computer Arts Studio courses and Video Broadcasting.

In addition to new faces MRH is offering a web design course and Technology Help Desk. John Redden, our current Desire to Learn coordinator, brings his knowledge of web design to this new course. Perhaps the most transforming feature in technology has been the creation of the MRH Tech Help Desk staffed with a full time Computer Repair Technician and MRH alumnus David Zahn. The desk is staffed by students and open all day. Students can now take their computer to the desk and get support. If the computer is in need of repair the student will get a ticket and the Tech Aides will return the computer as soon as it’s repaired. These new changes hope to bring more support for teachers and students and increase productivity and achievement.
