Forest Park Forever
On October 25 the MRH eighth grade class took part in a community and collaboration service learning project at Forest Park alongside Forest Park Forever horticulturalists. The students planted bulbs for spring, widened and reinforced walking paths, removed invasive species, and collected seeds for new planting, saving the horticulturalist hours of work. This saved time means that the horticulturalists can improve and beautify other areas of the park. As a middle school school community we felt that is was important to give back to the park, as we so often use it as an outside classroom and laboratory. In a way the students were able to say “thank you,” through their service, for all the incredible learning opportunities that Forest Park provides.
