Michael Maclin to Become Principal at University City High School
On March 8, 2012 the School District of University City approved the hiring of Michael Maclin for the position of high school principal at University City High School. Maclin is currently the assistant principal at MRH High School, and was previously an interim principal in the MRH Middle School.
Prior to becoming an administrator, he worked as a guidance counselor and social studies teacher. He has been involved in many positive changes at MRH, including helping to develop our secondary student home visit program, increasing the rigor of courses through an Honors Options program, and developing strong relationships with staff and the community for the benefit of students.
“While we are sad to see Michael leave MRH, we know he will be tremendous asset to the students and teachers of University City,” said MRH Superintendent Linda Henke. “We thank him for his time here and celebrate this next chapter in his life.”
MRH is now beginning the process of seeking a replacement for Michael’s position. In the coming weeks the district will form a search committee comprised of parents, community members and staff to fill his position.
