Elementary Orientation for In-coming 2nd Graders and Their Parents Planned
MRH Elementary has invited all parents of first graders to an orientation session the evening of Wednesday, May 9. Information about second grade at the elementary and the preparations to make the transition to a new school a smooth one for incoming second graders and their parents will be the focus for the evening. “We’ve planned a night with lots of information, many people to meet and activities for incoming second graders and their parents.” said principal Tony Arnold. In-coming Principal Jason Adams and Assistant Principal Jonathan Strong will be there as well as second grade classroom teachers and specials teachers.
The evening will begin with a Welcome at 6 p.m. First graders will spend most of the evening rotating among four stations with the Elementary Art, Music, Library and PE staff. The first graders will have a chance to explore the art room, music room, gym, garden and Boulder park playground. Later they will accompany their parents on a tour of the school.
All children should be properly supervised. If parents need help with childcare for other children, they should call Mrs. O’Connor in the main elementary office at 644-4403 by Tuesday May 4. Childcare will be provided so that the orientation session can be more meaningful for first graders and their parents. Childcare is available for grades 6 and under.
If you have any questions please call the ELEM office at 644-4403.
