MRH High School is Again Designated an Apple Distinguished School

Apple Distinguished School Logo The MRH High School has once again been named an “Apple Distinguished School” for the 2012-2013 school year. The High School joins 43 schools that Apple is renewing nationwide as exemplary learning environments and centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence.

According to Apple, “The administration and faculty at Maplewood Richmond Heights High School have shown that they exhibit the five best practices of an Apple Distinguished School: visionary leadership, innovative learning and teaching, ongoing professional learning, compelling evidence of success, and a flexible learning environment.”

The MRH High School is a school designed to meet the needs of the 21st century learner. The school prides itself on its diversity and emphasis on personal touch with students. Technology is part of the daily learning as well as the emphasis on health and wellness.

“The High School, as well as the entire MRH district, envisions a school environment where technology adds value to help shape the curriculum and learning, and where all of the teachers and students use technology seamlessly, selecting appropriate technology tools for the tasks at hand,” said Superintendent Karen I. Hall.

Apple has engaged with educators for over 30 years to explore and enhance the experience of teaching and learning. They believe in a world in which all learners are empowered to discover their own special genius. Their education mission is to provide a learning environment that supports the way students live and how they want to learn.

“We applaud schools such as Maplewood Richmond Heights High School who are able to advance this mission, ensuring that all students are prepared for future success in work and life,” said Apple.
