Access to Technology Continues to Grow at MRH Middle School!
In August of this year Dr. Dillon wrote and submitted a grant application with the Innovative Technology Education Fund and the grant was approved and awarded on November 12th. This grant was written to support the ongoing mission of the MRH Middle School to develop scholars, stewards, citizens, and leaders through the innovative use of instructional technology. Specifically, the grant will allow students to use technology on Expeditions and at school to gather visual and numerical data that has real world application and impact. The $12,000 grant will add two classroom sets of iPods, 8 iPads, energy audits kits, electronic water testing kits, and portable field documentation equipment, helping to grow the instructional capacity of teachers and the learning opportunities for students throughout the school year. This influx of new equipment will continue to support the innovative curriculum and instruction at MRH Middle School, which aligns with ITEF’s mission to:
“support leading edge ideas and models that positively impact student learning and support classroom educators by focusing on:
- Student Achievement – Students reach new levels of educational success with the integration of technology to support a strong technology based curriculum
- Mobile / Extended Learning – Using technology to extend and enhance learning outside of the traditional classroom
- Technology Skill Development – Projects that support students and teachers in developing the skills and knowledge needed to function in and contribute to a technology-rich society”
MRH Middle School is looking forward to the student learning and work that will come from the new opportunities students will have, with this new technology, to learn, to create, and to demonstrate their ever growing knowledge and skills.
