Students Speak at Farmers’ Forum
The North Central Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension hosted its 20th National Small FarmTrade Show and Conference at the Boone County Fair Grounds on November 1-3. We were honored to be asked to share our work surrounding sustainability at MRH with a focus on our new aquaponics program.
Students Lauren Wisman, Jamie Tipton, and Will Chemlir discussed how our program gives students an opportunity to learn deeply about systems and environmental justice issues surrounding economic and environmental sustainability. Bill Henske, science teacher and Melissa Breed-Park, gardener, rounded out our team of presenters.
