MRH Announces Selection of Middle School Assistant Principal
The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is pleased to announce the selection of Dan Reeve as the new assistant principal at the Middle School. Dan, currently the school’s reading specialist and instructional coach, will assume his new appointment on July 1, 2013.
The District was extremely fortunate to have had high quality candidates apply for the assistant principal position. The final two candidates participated in a series of reviews by parents representing all schools, teachers, and administrators. The process culminated with the approval of the Board of Education on May 7, 2013.
“His proven dedication to our community, global understanding of learning and curriculum, and his genuine concern and interest to help students and teachers grow, will make him a wonderful leader for our Middle School,” said MRH Superintendent Karen I. Hall.
Dan joined the MRH Middle School in 2006 as a reading specialist and in 2007 became a house parent and program developer for Joe’s Place, a home for homeless teenage boys in the MRH School District. Prior to coming to MRH, he was a communication arts teacher for the St. Louis Public Schools. Dan received his B.A. from Chico State University in English and his Teaching Credentials in 6th-9th Communication Arts and M.A. in Teaching from Missouri Baptist University. He is currently pursuing his Ed.S. from Webster University.
He is an eMINTS certified teacher for his use of integrating technology into his teaching and also became a Google Certified Teacher in 2012, a designation for exceptional K-12 educators with a passion for using innovative tools to improve teaching and learning. Additionally, Dan was named the MRH Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013.
