MRH High School Football Coach Continues Medical Leave
When the MRH High School Blue Devils take to the field for their first game of 2013 on Friday, August 30 against MICDS, Assistant Coaches Desmond Riechold, Kacy Day, Willie Ball, and Joe Spinks will lead them. MRH Head Football Coach J.C. Kime recently underwent hospitalization for kidney stones and is still recuperating from his surgery.
Former head coach and current MRH Athletic Director Rich Nixon will also be supporting the assistant coaches as needed until Coach Kime returns.
“Coach Kime is in regular contact with his coaches and still leading the team,” said MRH Superintendent Karen I. Hall. “He’s been a dedicated member of our MRH family for many years and I know he can’t wait to get back in the classroom and on the field with our students.”
The 2013 football team is a young one and in a rebuilding mode after losing many seasoned players to graduation last year. The 2012 season ended with a record of 10-3 after the Blue Devils’ lost to longtime rival, Caruthersville, in the Class 2 state quarterfinal.
“I speak for everyone here at MRH in wishing Coach Kime a speedy recovery and quick return to MRH,” added Hall.
