MRH Celebrates the Centennial of Richmond Heights
The City of Richmond Heights is celebrating its 100th year anniversary and the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District is helping to commemorate the Centennial.
The Grand Centennial Festival will take place on October 11 and 12, 2013, where the community can enjoy a number of activities. Events include a parade, carnival rides, clowns, magic, reptile and raptor shows, arts and crafts, food, concerts and a 5k run/walk. There is an event for all in attendance. The schedule can be viewed online.
All events will take place at The Heights Community Center.
MRH is participating and offering services in a number of ways.
Weekends on Wheels
The Semester of Service group will sell raffle tickets to benefit Weekend on Wheels. Their booth will be open 12:00-9:00 p.m. on October 12.
MRH High School Jazz Combo
MRH Jazz Combo will perform a varied repertoire of jazz standards on October 11 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
MRH Celebrates “100 in Style"
Scheduled for both days (Friday 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday 12:00-7:00 p.m.), the MRH Visual Arts Department and Student Ambassadors from MRH Middle School will be helping young visitors at the event make eye glasses to celebrate the Centennial "in style." They will be making glasses out of pipe cleaners that say 100 and decorating them with fancy supplies.
