MRH Hosts Guests from Apple and St. Louis Area Schools
As an Apple Distinguished School for two years, Maplewood Richmond Heights High School hosted a tour for members of the Apple Inc. team and other interested guests from various schools November 5, 2013. Employees of Apple Inc. came to St. Louis from as close as Kansas City, MO and as far away as Cupertino, CA.
Students, as well as the technology staff, gave the guests a tour and showed them how the Macbook Mobile Learning Program is in action at MRH. The visitors were interested in observing how the 1-1 initiative program engaged all students successfully.
MRH’s technology infrastructure supports innovation in teaching and learning and those were some of the key take-home points reiterated throughout the tour. The guests were able to hear from members of the school community, talk with administrators and visit the classrooms to see how technology supported the curriculum. One of the stops was the student-run Help Desk present in the High School, designed to support the 1-1 initiative and help with laptop related issues and training. There they were able to take a technology-based tour on a projector screen, a laptop, or an iPad.
