MRH Celebrates the Holiday Season with Richmond Heights and Maplewood
The holiday season kicks off in Richmond Heights with the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony Friday, November 22, 2013. Join the city at The Heights Community Center, 8001 Dale Ave. Richmond Heights, MO, as they flip the switch on the holiday lights.
The MRH Middle and High School choir will be singing at the event. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. at 6:10 p.m. the Mayor welcomes the guests. At approximately 6:15 p.m. the mayor flips the switch on the lights. The performances start at 6:30 p.m.
The event will feature refreshments, giveaways and children’s craft activities.
MRH is also helping the city of Maplewood celebrate with their 12th Annual Christmas Tree Walk on Friday, December 6, 2013. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. in Citizens National Bank Park with caroling and the grand lighting of the tree.
Students from MRH will be lighting luminaries along Manchester Road and Sutton Boulevard, as well as providing hot cocoa. High School and Elementary students will provide choral entertainment while Middle School drama students, dressed in festive holiday costumes, will mingle with guests and pose for photos.
During the evening, visitors will enjoy free carriage rides through historic Maplewood. Area merchants will have holiday shopping specials and many dining destinations and coffee shops will be feature live entertainment.
At 6:00 p.m. the lighting of the Christmas Tree and Caroling will take place. From 6:30-9:00 p.m. there will be free carriage rides and merchant open houses throughout Maplewood.
All events are free and open to the public.
