MRH Board of Education Member Dawn Medina Steps Down
The Maplewood Richmond Heights School District regretfully announces Board of Education Director Dawn Medina has resigned from the Board effective May 15, 2014, due to additional duties with her job and church. Medina’s resignation was accepted by the Board of Education at its regular meeting on Thursday, May 15.
“My other commitments have become too great for me to devote the necessary time and attention that is needed to fulfill my position on the Board,” noted Medina in her letter of resignation.
“The entire Board of Education and staff is sad to see Dawn leave, but we understand her need to focus on her career and church right now,” said MRH Board of Education President Maria Langston. “We wish her the best.”
“It has been a great privilege and honor to work with great people that share my same commitment to our students and community,” added Medina. “I still intend to be an active member of the school district and the community going forward.”
Pursuant to MRH Board Policies BBC and BBE, the remaining Board members will seek a candidate to appoint to the Board of Education to fulfill Medina’s remaining term, which expires in April 2015.
