2014 MRH High School Graduation Procedures

The MRH Class of 2014 will hold its graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 22, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the High School campus.  Below is a brief overview of the outdoor ceremony and the indoor plan (in case of inclement weather).

Access to the Campus

  • Martini Drive is closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic at the northern property line of the new QuikTrip (just south of the gate entrance to the Middle/High School campus and athletic field) due to construction.
  • To access the campus from north or southbound Big Bend Boulevard, turn west on Rannells Avenue and then turn south (left) onto Martini Drive. From east or westbound Manchester Road, turn north on Bredell Avenue and then turn east (right) onto Lohmeyer Avenue.  Download a map.

Parking

  • Parking is available on the MS and HS lot on the north side of the campus.  Additional parking is available at the Maplewood Family Aquatic Center (just west of the MS/HS campus on Lohmeyer Avenue). 
  • Accessible parking spots are available on the main MS/HS parking lot as well as the small lot adjacent to the former Healing Arts at intersection of Martini Drive and Lohmeyer Avenue.
  • Parking is also available on the streets surrounding the campus.  Please be sure to not block access to residents’ driveways and garages (automobiles doing this could be ticketed or towed).  Also, please do not park on the private parking lots of businesses adjacent to the campus.

Outdoor Graduation
Location: Football Field

  • Seating is open on a first-come, first served basis in the stadium bleachers. 
  • Holding/reserving of seats will not be permitted.
  • In order that we may create the best atmosphere for the graduates and guests, we ask that you do not talk during the ceremony and that you turn all phones to vibrate/silent. We also request that signs/banners and balloons be left outside the stadium so that all guests are able to view the ceremony.

Indoor Graduation (in case of inclement weather)
Location: MRH Theatre

  • Commencement exercises will be moved indoors due to inclement weather (or the forecast of inclement weather.) Every effort will be made to keep the ceremony outdoors. The decision to move the ceremony indoors will be made no later than 1:00 p.m. the day of the event.
  • Should the decision to move indoors 12th grade families will be notified by email, automated phone call, messages posted on Twitter and Facebook, and a message on the District’s website.
  • Each graduate will be given five tickets to graduation, which will be needed ONLY for an indoor ceremony. Lost tickets will not be replaced.
  • Doors to the Theatre will open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited and all guests must have a ticket (only original tickets will be accepted), except for those under two years of age. Any child under two years must sit on the lap of an accompanying adult.
  • Holding/reserving of seats will not be permitted.
