Student-run Lemonade Stand Benefits Research Organization
At Maplewood Richmond Heights, enhancing the lives of others is embedded in the entire communities' everyday activities. One class at MRH High School, Introduction to Business, led by Pam Withers, Business Education Teacher, have taken their studies to the real world and have intertwined community service and fundraising into their lesson plan. The students are currently studying from the book “The Accounting Game: Basic Accounting Fresh from the Lemonade Stand.” This class petitioned to run a real lemonade stand. During the week of September 8-12, 2014, during lunch, these students will be selling lemonade as a fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). This foundation helps to fight childhood cancer through research and donations for various cures. Learn more about this organization here.
