Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) visited Maplewood Richmond Heights Elementary School on October 31, 2014. Students learned about Type One Diabetes and additionally how they can help turn Type One into Type None. Students now have the opportunity to help support friends, classmates, and family members impacted by Type One Diabetes (T1D) by raising funds for research (with permission from a parent/guardian). Details are included in the JDRF Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes collection envelope that was sent home with each student.
Visit kidswalk.jdrf.org to register or make a donation.
MRH’s Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes, a celebration of what students have learned and how they have helped end Type One Diabetes, will be held at MRHE on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. JDRF sneakers will be turned in as they are sold and posted in the gym in celebration of our success. Please be sure to send all donations back to school with your child on Friday, November 14, 2014.
Over the next two weeks, students will continue to learn about Type One and Type Two Diabetes, healthy eating habits and creative ways to enhance their fundraising efforts.
